Common questions
How do my projects get to my other devices?
Through your own iCloud account. Sign in to the same Apple Account on each device and make sure iCloud is on. Settings › iCloud in the app shows the sync status. Changes usually appear within a minute.
Which citation styles are there?
APA 7, MLA 9, Chicago 17 (notes-bibliography and author-date) and Harvard are always available. Turn on IEEE, Vancouver, AMA 11, Turabian 9 and OSCOLA 4 in Settings › Projects. Each project has its own style; change it with Edit on the project page.
Dictation or recording doesn't start
The app needs permission for the microphone and speech recognition. Check your device's Settings: on iPhone and iPad, Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone and Speech Recognition; on a Mac, System Settings › Privacy & Security. Only one of dictation and recording can run at a time.
Will a lecture recording keep going if my iPhone locks?
Yes. Recording continues with the screen locked. A phone call stops the recording and saves what was recorded so far. Recordings take about 30 MB of iCloud storage per hour.
How do I delete my data?
Delete a project, source or lecture in the app, and it's removed from all your devices and your iCloud. To remove everything, turn off iCloud for the app in your device's Settings and delete the app. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Does the app need an account?
No. There's nothing to sign up for. Your name and picture in Settings › My Profile stay on your devices.
